CHARACTER
Name: Amy Pond
Canon: Doctor Who
Age: 30
Timeline: Series 7 Post Angels Take Manhattan
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/a

Personality:main personality traits (positive or negative)
Amy can come off as brash and not trusting, when you first meet her. She has a very good reason for being like this, as she has lived most of her life alone, feeling very much abandoned. She did not, however, start out that way. Amy was a normal girl when we were first introduced to her; as normal as you can get with a crack in your bedroom wall. She prayed hard everyday for someone to help her, as her parents were gone and she had no one but her aunt. The trusting Amelia, who met the Doctor when she was nine, would have followed him anywhere. She was willing to follow him but he like so many people in her life; let her down. This was no fault of his own; for he believes that most things are not his fault and leaving Amelia for such a long time was regrettable. One of the problems was that he left Amelia cold and very much alone. She grew up not trusting the people around her and was the first one to push people away; diverting any attention from anything remotely close to being emotional.

She is a feisty individual and opinionated to boot. This means she has no qualms about stating her opinion on all matters, and not following orders from the people that have her best interests at heart; or so they think. Amy is a lot stronger than most people give her credit for. She is very much used to not relying on people and going her own way. It is only when she truly lets Rory and the Doctor in, she truly exhibits the strength of character that she has always had. She has a habit of doing what she thinks is best, no matter what the consequences. This can be seen during the episode “Forest of the Dead” when she had a Weeping Angel in her brain. It was forcing her against her will, yet she still had the heart and courage to defy it. During the episode “A Good Man Goes to War” the Silence had taken her child, Melody Pond; not only that but she had forgotten Rory and the Doctor, yet she still refused to give up hope. All of this shows just how strong a person Amy Pond is.

Amy also exhibits a softer side as well. This usually only comes out when she is with Rory. In the beginning, it was evident that Rory's feelings for Amy ran much deeper than hers did for him. She carried her past hurts and insecurities with her into her adulthood and guarded herself emotionally. This was usually shown by running away from any meaningful relationship conversation that she could have with Rory.

This did not serve her well at all and that was probably her biggest weakness. It was only through Rory's constant patience and love, that Amy was finally able to believe in herself and trust Rory enough to let her guard down. Amy has lost so much in her life, that when she finally allows herself to believe in love, and believe in Rory, she attacks it with gusto, going full out. She gravitates towards Rory more and more, slowly starting to pull away from depending on the Doctor so much.

Amy is also very fierce and determined, especially when she is facing a foe, or someone coming between her and Rory. She can be fighting tooth and nail to protect the people that she loves, often doing things that would seem to most as reckless, but not mattering to Amy. She knows with certainty that she has to do whatever it takes to protect the people she loves; even if it means dying.

Their marriage has not always been an easy one. They have gone through so much in the short time that they were married. The road to marriage was not an easy one, and they were separated by 2,000 years after "The Pandorica Opens," and despite that they made it back to each other and were stronger for it. They lost a child and still remained strong and together. They biggest change in Amy and Rory's relationship happened in "The Asylum of the Daleks." It turns out that Amy and Rory have divorced, and for purely selfless reasons on both sides. Amy knew that Rory wanted children, and that she couldn't give them to him, so instead of being selfish, she let him go, which is the hardest thing that she ever had to do. In the end though, they both realize that they are much stronger together, than they are apart, and that feeling is what really cements their bond. There is no more doubt in either of their minds, that they belong together. "Together or not at all," from "Angels Take Manhattan," really epitomizes how Amy feels about Rory. She sees no life for herself if he is not there.

Amy is definitely the type of person that marches to the beat of her own drum. It can be seen in her outward appearance, as well as her actions. Her fashion sense is fun and quirky, bringing out the fact that Amy does her own thing. She doesn't particularly care about what people think of her, perhaps the exception being Rory. She uses her image as almost as a defence mechanism; the quirkier she can be, the further she can push people away. She didn't really count on Rory, Melody, and the Doctor accepting her for what she was; warts and all.

Amy is the type of person that needs a purpose in her life. She has spent most of her life running from things. When she finally does find a goal, she grasps it with both hands and holds on tight. She doesn't want to lose anything else in her life; so when outside forces interfere in what she is doing, her Scottish personality definitely comes out in full force. She is stubborn and doesn't like to admit when she is wrong, or admit defeat. She fights her feelings almost all of the time and reluctantly gives into them, even when given no choice. In the episode, "Angels Take Manhattan", Amy makes her ultimate choice, when she chooses Rory. The feeling is that there really was no other choice to make. Amy shows strength in her resolve, and there is a peacefulness about her, as she stands in the cemetary, looking at the headstone. ""Would it send me back to him? I just have to blink, and it will be fine. I'll be fine... I'll be with him... like I should be.... me and Rory" Amy, in that moment has a new goal, and a new focus. She is choosing to spend her life with the man she loves, instead of running away, her new goal is to be the best wife that she can possibly be.

Still, even in death Amy cannot leave the Doctor completely in the lurch, and wrote him a lovely afterword to their adventures, that epitomized their life both with the Doctor and not. "We lived well, and we were very happy", which is the closure that she wanted to give the Raggedy man that she had grown to love. She didn't want him to live the rest of his days wondering what happened to her and Rory.

"We loved you very much. Don't be alone.". Amy still in the end is taking care of both the men that she loves. The Doctor takes her words to heart and finds another companion.

"There is a little girl waiting in a garden, and she is going to need a lot of hope. This is the story of Amelia Pond and this is how it ends." This brings the Doctor and Amy's story full circle, and it pushes the Doctor to do just what she told him to do. He gives hope to a little girl, and is able to move forward, even though Amy and Rory are not there.

Background: Amy Pond

Abilities:-Amy has a sharp tongue and a quick wit.
-She has the ability to think on her feet.
-She has no supernatural abilities to speak off, so cannot bend space or time to her will. Yet, she does manage to put up with a Time Lord and a child born of the TARDIS (Melody Pond/River Song.)

First Person: [When Amy opens her eyes, she is fully expecting to see Rory, or at least, a way to get to him. This is what River had told her would happen; she had said that this was her best chance. She promised her. Amy now looks out at the rolling waves on the beach, and yells.]

You promised me Melody Pond! You promised me he would be here, that everything would be as it should be. But is he here?

[She looks around at first, very calmly, calculating the risks, as the Doctor had taught her. Amy appears to be windblown, but okay. She is still blinking rapidly, as if somehow it will change her destination. There are tear tracks on her face, from crying. ]

I am looking for my husband, Rory Williams. He is supposed to be here, and he's not.

[She pauses thinking for a moment. She has a look of concentration on her face. She is staring off into the distance a little]

The book! Will the book help me find him? I will do anything that I have to do in order to see him again. Do you hear me? You can't keep us apart. We're together or not at all. Whoever is listenin' to this! Do you hear me? I need him. He needs me!

Or the Tardis.... Has a anyone seen a blue box that's bigger on the inside than outside?

Third Person: Taken from this

She stared at the man in confusion for a long moment. He looked familiar somehow, but she couldn’t put her finger on it.

"Excuse me; you never answered the question, did you?" She asked him. Her head turned slightly; her face the picture of confusion, but there was also a fierce, stubborn determination, which was always present on her face. She may be heartbroken and torn to shreds over Rory not being here, but having this stranger talking to her out of the blue, sent warning bells up for Amy.

She could almost hear the Doctor saying, "Just come back into the TARDIS and we'll fix things. We'll find a way. Some way. Maybe she should have listened. Listened to him because her way had landed her here, and she didn't even know where the bloody hell here was. She just stared at him for the longest time.

"You.... You can't be.... can you?" She whispered. "How is this possible?" The Doctor looked just as surprised as she did, and that was so frustrating. "If you look surprised, then it must have worked right?" She asked, reaching out to touch him; afraid that he would vanish just like he did before.

"Then why am I here? I don't belong here. I shouldn't be here. I should be with him. Take me back there, Raggedy man! Take me there right now!"

Amy was not a girl that was used to being at home for very long. She was the girl who waited. She traveled, and she had been content to do so. She probably still would be if her life were different. If she hadn't found, and lost Rory so many times.

She sighed, as she sat on the grass outside of the flat she shared with Rory. She didn't think she would be content with this, but she surprisingly was. It should frighten her but it didn't. She would be fine as long as she had Rory.
